Safe Terrain
Timothy Snyder and Mark Hamill launch a joint fundraiser for 30 demining robots

As a result of the russian invasion, almost a quarter of Ukraine's government-controlled territory (139,300 square kilometers) is contaminated with explosive ordnance. It will take at least 10 years to clear it. UNITED24 Ambassadors, Timothy Snyder and Mark Hamill, are joining forces to raise funds for demining robots to help clear Ukrainian land.

OUR GOAL IS $441,000

THESE ARE THE ROBOTS YOU ARE RAISING MONEY FOR

Zmiy Ground Demining Complex

Due to its small size, this robotic de-miner is able to work in hard-to-reach areas. Zmiy clears mines with the help of a special chained trawl. It can destroy TM-62 mines, as well as anti-personnel mines such as PMN-2, PMN-4, PFM and mines installed with tripwires, like OZM-72 and MON devices. It works at a safe distance from the operator.

This terrestrial robotic complex provides logistical support to tactical units, reaching a maximum speed of up to 14 km/h. It’s multifunctional,  helping military operations in reconnaissance, surveillance, evacuation of the wounded, transportation of cargo up to 200 kg and even demining. Equipped with two cameras, it utilizes non-standard frequencies for control and video transmission, ensuring safe and reliable communications between operators and the robot at distances of up to 5 km.
